Before getting into my funny gift ideas, it’s important to ask yourself a couple questions:

• do the coworkers have a good sense of humor?

• is the work environment overly professional or is it more laid back?
• what is the dynamic with the boss?

The answers here can help you figure out the right gifts to get your coworkers.

You wouldn’t want to be crass or offend anyone in a professional environment anyway – these are remembered. So, it’s best to think about these questions before buying anything.

Age ranges

Let’s be honest – different generations have different definitions of what ‘funny’ means. So, that should be taken into account when shopping for gifts.

Nostalgia gifts may be wonderful for millennials, Gen Xers and boomers. But, they can also be pretty funny when given to Gen Zers who have no idea what the gift is … like CDs!

Funny Christmas gifts for coworkers

1. Desk signs

For Christmas, get something for your coworkers’ desks. You could create fun signs in Canva, print, frame and give as holiday gifts.

I am actually planning on gifting a friend a ‘bring coffee before questions’ sign. He’s a coffee lover and hates early morning ‘smart’ questions from his young staff so he’ll certainly enjoy the gift.

Or you can get silly, physical signs online. This mini caution cleaning sign is adorably funny and has cheap rates for answers. It’s perfect for both helpful and snarky men and women in the office.

For a sign they can change based on what they’re working on, get this simple flip-over desk one. They can decide if to display ‘fixer of everything’, ‘$1 for stupid questions’, ‘chaos coordinator’ and more. This is great for introverts, bosses, and coworkers who love the job and are really good at what they do.

2. Crochet toys

Crochet toys are also wonderful for their desk. Of course, you can follow a tutorial on YouTube and DIY one or you can find an adorable one on Etsy or Amazon.

For coworkers that are partners-in-crime at the office and deal with chaotic, dynamic situations, this dumpster fire crochet toy would be so funny. Get a few and gift to all your favorite coworkers.
