Check in with parents first
Before getting into the Halloween activities, check in with the parents and how they view Halloween.
Some parents are very much against the spooky imagery, often for religious reasons. So, it’s important to know what you should or shouldn’t get for the students in your class.
Candy and sweet treats are also great gift ideas here but they can contain nuts and other allergens that may be harmful for some of the kids. So, be sure to check with the parents about allergy information and diet restrictions.
Halloween student gifts
Okay let’s get into these fun ideas now.
1. Stickers
Halloween themed stickers are such small, simple gifts to commemorate the day. I mean who doesn’t love stickers? These come with cartoony designs for pumpkins, ghosts, bats and more.
2. Slap bracelets
Okay, this one is a pretty fun, silly student gift! Slap bracelets are such an old school toy but they can be so much fun. These bracelets have designs with candy, pumpkins, spiders, ghosts and more.
3. Temporary tattoos
Temporary tattoos with silly and scary cartoon designs would be such a light-hearted Halloween gift for your class. They can choose from pumpkins, bats, ghouls, monsters and more.
4. Mini cauldrons with toys
These mini plastic cauldrons are great to use for in-class trick-or-treat activities. They also come sealed with a couple fun toys inside like false fingers, spider rings, sticky hands and more.
5. Slime kits
Halloween is the perfect time for slime! Okay, to be fair, slime brings year round fun. But, this slime kit is Halloween themed and adorable. You get multiple types of slime (butter, cloud, and clear) and so many charms like eyes, sprinkles, and more.
6. Halloween stationery sets
When in doubt, go with stationery! These Halloween themed stationery sets come with notepads, pencils, erasers, stamps, stickers and rulers! And you can find adorable Dracula, ghosts, cats, bats and other designs!
Here’s another option with different spooky designs:
7. Plastic spider rings
These tiny, fun gifts are perfect for middle schoolers and students who aren’t easily scared by creepy crawlies. They come in black, purple and orange and actually glow in the dark.
These won’t be my first choice for Halloween gifts for students though because I don’t do spiders. Nope, nope, no siree.
8. Mini squishies
I do love a good squishie toy though! These cutesy ones come as bats, ghosts, cats, eyeballs, witches, pumpkins, and yes spiders too.
9. Mini Halloween puzzles
If you are looking for a bigger gift to occupy the kids in class, then puzzles are perfect. Have them work together in groups or swap out to other puzzles when they are done. This activity can boost their cooperation, communication and social skills.
10. Wind up toys
These may be old school toys but they are still lots of fun. Get wind up vampire, pumpkin, and ghost figurines and watch the kids play with them! Let them take home their favorites too.
11. Bouncy balls
I always loved bouncy balls as gifts growing up. It’s always interesting watching them go in different directions and at different heights. Maybe that’s where my love for science came from. Who knows?!
These bouncy balls actually glow in the dark and come in witch, bat, cat, pumpkin and other designs.
12. Random mini toys
If you are looking for lots of different gifts, then this set of random toys may be exactly what you want! It comes with spider rings, spiders, scorpions, balloons, fake fingers, slap bracelets, tops and more.
13. Rainbow scratch masks
Throw a small costume party in school and get these unique masks for the students. They are scratch masks so the kids can create their own designs that reveal rainbow colors. There are skulls, spiders, pumpkins, cats, bats, and witches hat masks to choose from.
14. Invisible ink and UV light
If you prefer less Halloween imagery, then these invisible ink and UV light gifts may be great for students. Have them write scary short stories with the invisible ink and let their friends use the UV light to read the stories out loud. This will certainly be a unique classroom activity for Halloween.
15. Wizard glasses and wands
This student gift idea also moves away from the pumpkin, ghost, monster imagery and more towards magic and Harry Potter. These come with plastic spectacles and wands, which are also pencils!
16. DIY kits
If your older students are into magic and wizards, then they will certainly enjoy these wand making kits for Halloween. The kits come with wooden wands, clay, paints and brushes so they can create their own wand designs. This would be such an artsy, creative class activity.
These small wooden DIY keepsakes may be better suited to the younger students. The kit comes with wooden Halloween cut outs, paint, brushes, and glitter glue pens. The kiddies would certainly have fun painting and designing them.
17. Halloween candy
I couldn’t go an entire list without mentioning what kids want the most for Halloween! Candy is a must! There are so many options too and you can buy them all in bulk. I love this set of Snickers, Milky Way, and Twix.
Of course, Reese’s peanut butter cups are also pretty popular too.
Bonus: Funny tees for teachers
Okay, so this one is not technically a student gift, but it’s sure to set the tone for a fun filled day. Halloween themed tees for teachers are sure to make the kids giggle. And, if teachers get into character, it’s sure to be a memorable Halloween!
I can picture my old drama teacher in this “Will Trade Students for Candy” tee cackling at the top of her lungs. She was always so committed to a bit! Ha!
Those are my ideas for Halloween student gifts. I hope you found some great inspiration here that are affordable and fun for your class.
