Fall teacher gifts
1. Appreciation cards
Teachers love thoughtful thank you cards especially from their students. You can DIY a simple card and have your kid write a really nice happy fall greeting in it.
A couple doodles would also bring some personality to the one-of-a-kind card.
2. Fall candles
What screams fall more than candles? They are cozy gifts that are perfect for the change in weather. And, if the candles smell amazing, that makes the gift all the more special!
I enjoy these soy candles that come in pumpkin spice, maple sugar, apple pie, and clove cinnamon scents. They also come in metal jars and actually last about 50 hours.
For a more elegant set, these candles are simple but pretty. They come in jars with similar scents like apple pie, pumpkin spice, cinnamon and cedarwood with orange.
3. Homemade treats
Make the teacher some wonderful homemade treats. If you have extra apples, whip up a batch of apple butter or apple pie bars. They are yummy and make great gifts for teachers. With extra pumpkins, you can also make homemade pumpkin puree or even pumpkin pie.
Of course, it’s important to know allergy and diet particulars of the teacher. Do they have any allergies? Are they vegan? These would certainly influence what homemade snacks you can make for them.
4. Simple tote
A great tote can be a wonderful gift for teachers, especially for fall. There are tons of options available including this cotton one that says “It’s a good day to teach tiny humans.”
It’s pretty high quality and functional.
5. Makeup bag (or pencil case)
Besides a tote, a makeup bag would be great for teachers, especially ladies. Of course, the bag can double as a pencil case so they can keep their pens, pencils, markers, stickers and other stationery supplies in there.
I’m a fan of this floral one that says “teach them, love them, watch them grow.” It’s a sweet gift.
6. Desk figurines
Fall desk decorations are great teacher gifts. Cute signs and adorable figurines are fun items to get. These are great little glimmers that’ll certainly make the teacher smile when he or she sees them.
A simple thing like a mini pumpkin paperweight would definitely fit the fall theme and be pretty to look at.
7. Crochet gifts
Besides figurines, crochet gifts can also be soft and adorable desk decor items. Or the teachers can take them home. If you are into crocheting, you can DIY a personal one for them. Plants, pets, pumpkins and leaves are all fun ideas for autumn.
If you love the idea but crocheting isn’t your thing, then get this cute cat crochet one. It’s the cutest.
8. Mini plants
If the teacher has a green thumb, then mini plants would be a delightful surprise. Succulents and snake plants can handle changing temperatures really well and are great indoor plants to have.
9. Sticky notes
Sticky notes are wonderfully practical for teachers. They can use them for writing reminders, notes for students, or as page holders. Getting fun autumn themed sticky notes are definitely a great teacher gift for the season.
These coffee ones are delightful and you can share them with teachers, your kids, coworkers and keep some for yourself.
10. More stationery
Why stop at sticky notes? I mean there are lots of fall-inspired pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, paper clips, and markers that you can get for the teacher.
These sticky notes and pen sets are such fun treats that anyone would love.
11. School banners
This may not necessarily be a teacher gift but it can certainly bring a smile to their face and brighten up their classroom. And, let’s be honest, teachers go out-of-pocket and out of their way to make the classroom fun for the kids.
So, why not save them a little time and money by getting classroom decorations? Banners saying “happy fall” and “fall is in the air” would certainly set a happy mood for the changing season.
I love this burlap sign from Whaline. It’s simple but fun!
12. Bulletin board decor
Much like banners, bulletin board decorations aren’t necessarily a teacher gift but it’s one they will definitely appreciate.
If they haven’t decorated their bulletin board yet with fun autumn themed decor, get them ones they will absolutely love. These are pretty simple borders they’d enjoy.
Take up the whole board with some bold, colorful decorations like this “Welcome to Our Patch” set. It comes with lots of cutouts that the kids can help put up in class.
For this gift though, definitely talk to the teacher beforehand so she (or he) can add some input to the idea. Teachers always love a say on how their class looks and feels.
13. Leaf ornaments
Okay, this is my last classroom decor suggestion, I promise. But, think about it – leaf ornaments added throughout the room, hanging on the ceiling, and even added as window decorations. The leaves can soft launch the Christmas spirit early in class while still acknowledging the beauty of autumn.
You can DIY your own fall-themed ornaments using recycled paper. Follow along simple tutorials on Youtube like this one:
Or get these adorable already-made maple leaf ornaments.
14. Pumpkin spice and everything nice
Back to the fall gifts for teachers that aren’t about their class. Ha! If the teacher is a coffee lover, get them some pumpkin spice flavored coffee! K-cups, Nespresso pods and ground coffee are all great in flavors like cinnamon, caramel, hazelnut and more.
15. Chocolate
The pumpkin spice flavors don’t stop at just coffee! You can find them in teas, cookies and chocolate! Who doesn’t love chocolate? These make great teacher gifts and they are certainly on theme!
16. Cozy gifts
No fall gift can be complete without something soft, fuzzy and incredibly cozy. It could be a blanket, throw, sweater, socks, or gloves. Any of these would be great cozy options for the teacher. I adore these fuzzy socks!
17. Planners
It may be fall, but part of a teacher’s job is to plan and organize upcoming classes, events and school terms. That’s why academic planners are wonderful gifts for teachers.
You can get them a 2026 one from now like the Hobonichi Techo cousins.
Or go for a more floral planner like this one.
Those are my ideas for fall teacher gifts. I hope you enjoyed them.
