What are boo baskets

Think of boo baskets as gift baskets with a Halloween theme. When they were first popular, friends would leave the baskets anonymously on each other’s porches with a tag saying “you’ve been boo’ed.” And it was expected that the recipient would pay it forward by gifting a basket to someone else.

It’s not so anonymous anymore but the gift giving fun remains. You can fill the basket with just about anything from Halloween and fall themed cozy gifts, sweet treats like candy and even gag presents.

Ideas for teacher boo baskets

1. Basket

Starting things off, choose a great, functional basket that the teacher can reuse and repurpose. You can also use a Halloween themed bucket or even bag. There are no rules here and you can make it as cute or as spooky as you want it to be.

This woven basket is a beautiful option.

You can also use a cauldron bucket too as the ‘basket.’

2. Blanket

Blankets are great cozy elements for the boo basket. You can add ones with adorable ghosts, cats, or pumpkins on them. Or try super simple and minimalist blankets. I adore this burnt orange throw blanket. It’s made with breathable cotton!

3. Throw pillow covers

You can add in some more home decor items with throw pillow covers that match the blanket. It could be adorable and fun or weird and spooky. You could also do fall themed pillow slips too. I really like this one with pumpkin designs.

4. Halloween tee

Once you know the teacher’s size, Halloween themed tees are great gift options for your teacher boo basket. You can order a customized one or get a tee with the teacher’s favorite spooky character. This trick or teach tshirt is also pretty unique.

6. Badge holder & lanyard

If the teacher uses a badge holder and lanyard, then a fun, Halloween themed set would be a great, cheap gift for the basket. Consider it a basket filler, much like a stocking filler. If the teacher is a fan of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas,’ they’ll appreciate this one.

7. Fun stickers

Here’s something the teacher can use in the classroom – stickers! They can use them on class decorations or as student rewards for performing well in class. There are so many sticker options, but these are spooktastic!
