I just got back from an intense seven-day shopping trip to Fort Lauderdale. It wasn’t all shopping though. We visited relatives in Naples and Bal Harbour. And we even strolled along the beach in both locations. Fun times!
For the rest of the trip, we managed to see the insides of almost all the popular department stores. And the beauty stores too.
My Ulta visit was fun… I patch tested so many products in-store; especially the Cosrx ones.
Before I get into it, I should back-track… Ever heard of Cosrx?
It’s a Korean beauty brand that has a huge cult following. The products are amazing, and they work! Everyone fawns over them in the same way as Paula’s Choice. And, like Paula’s Choice, Cosrx uses few ingredients that are all about doing exactly what the product says.
Here’s what I got in my Cosrx haul.

Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patches
These are incredibly popular. They are hydrocolloid patches that you slap onto a pimple before bed. By the next morning, the patch usually absorbs the white stuff in the pimple and reduces swelling and redness. It does some overnight zit-be-gone magic.
Oh and from my own personal experience, the patches ease hormonal pimples too! Where were these patches when I was a teen?
Get these patches online from Amazon. I got the pack of four.
Cosrx BHA blackhead power liquid
Blackheads used to love me… Ugh! I had to use blackhead extractors and pore strips way too often just to control them. Then I got my hands on this blackhead holy grail. What it has done to all my blackheads is nothing short of a miracle!
BHA means beta-hydroxy acid.
You may be more familiar with AHAs or alpha-hydroxy acids in your beauty products (like glycolic and lactic acids). They do wonderous things for your skin. WebMD says AHAs work by removing surface layers of dead skin cells; promote skin firmness and improve the thickness of deeper skin layers. That’s why AHAs are used for dry skin, acne, scars, wrinkles and more.
Now, BHA is stronger than AHA. Actually, BHA is also called salicylic acid. And, if you have acne prone skin like me, salicylic acid is your face’s best friend. It fights acne like a boyfriend would to defend your honor. (Don’t use BHA if you are allergic to aspirin!)
The Cosrx liquid also has niacinamide in it which has anti-inflammatory benefits. And this 2006 study found niacinamide reduces sebum levels! No shiny t-zone with this one!
That’s why this is my holy grail product. It’s a must in any Cosrx haul. It deals with all my skin issues – blackheads, acne and excess sebum.
I picked up my latest bottle in Ulta but you can get it on Amazon for less.
Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream
Ok so it’s been holy grails and magic so far. And this blemish cream is no exception… and no exaggeration. It is my absolute favorite Cosrx haul product.
It contains centella extract which is used in traditional medicine to treat minor wounds and soothe irritated spots. The cream soothes alright! And… *drum roll please* it fades dark spots and scars OVERNIGHT! I’m not kidding. This blemish cream freaking works in a couple hours. It smells good too!
I had these rash spots on my legs for a month now (and they got worse during my trip! I think stress 🙁 triggers them). One application of the blemish cream and poof! The spots were no longer red, itchy or noticeable.
This one is an absolute must! I’ve seen them on the Walmart website and on Amazon for under $22.
Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream
This cream is a little intimidating to a K-beauty newbie. It’s got snail mucin in it… snail… mucin… Just saying that makes some of my friends run for the hills. Hubby too sometimes. But the cream is super-duper hydrating and great for wrinkles. I’m in my 30s, so getting wrinkles is only a matter of time for me. Better to be proactive, am I right?
The cream is a little sticky; but if you don’t think about it too much, you’ll notice your skin absorbs it really fast and won’t leave you feeling sticky or greasy. Instead, you’ll see your skin glow.
Get this cream on Amazon or Ulta.
TonyMoly Sheet Masks
I’ve talked about TonyMoly sheet masks before in my best face masks for sensitive skin post. It’s always a fun spa day with these masks. I picked up the charcoal one to deal with my pores on a bad day and the green tea one.
YesTo Sheet Masks
I’ve always wanted to try these bubbling masks from YesTo. I picked up the salicylic acid one because, you know, acne issues. Seeing a common theme over here? The mask is great for dealing with pimples and blackheads.
I got the cucumber one too. It supposedly purifies and deep cleans skin while soothing it. Sounds great! Will let you know my thoughts after trying it.
Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder
Being in the Caribbean, excess sebum is just a part of life for me. Shiny t-zone over here! And the hotter it gets, the oilier my skin becomes. *sigh* That’s why I’m such a big fan of this mineral powder. It controls the oiliness so I won’t shine bright like a diamond… (seriously when is Rihanna going to release new music?!).
I think I’ve covered everything from my shopping haul. I got some products in Ulta, Urban Outfitters, Walmart, and on Amazon. They were cheapest on Amazon since you don’t have to pay taxes and what not.
Pin this for later:
